UPDATED: Columbia, Missouri SWAT Raid 2/11/2010. Cops immediately shoot restrained dog in front of child, then seconds later fire several more shots. “UPDATE: Mayor and Chief hold conference May 5 ? Updated May 7, 2010. “The Feb. 11 raid ended with a misdemeanor amount of marijuana discovered and two of Whitworths dogs shot, one of them fatally. Whitworth pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia. ” Whatever the case, I don’t see a reason to shoot a restrained dog because it decided bark when a group of people loudly broke into its home. Its painful to hear the dog.. then is shot several more times with family and child present. Officially there were 2 dogs shot, one fatally. From details, they killed a caged Pitbull and shot a Corgi dog. The boy is 7 years old. ….Imagine the long-term mental scarring this will leave on the family and child. If I shoot a cop dog – its murder of a POLICE OFFICER, but if THEY shoot MY dog, theres no recourse – WTF is THAT!!??

Police have a standard SOP they are to follow, If a dog is acting in an aggressive manor the office reserves the judgement to kill the dog in defense of himself. The kid and the mother were in their bedrooms. Thus the killing wasn’t in-front of him, working in a job where the next corner you turn could kill you set’s the tone and mindset before each and every house you enter… And for the guy that said he could tell aggression by the ” Sound of the bark ” Please… Don’t make me laugh.
I don’t see where it says the dogs were restrained. Those that think this is against the law really need to actually read the laws they talk about. If there is a dog in a house they are searching and it poses a threat as determined by the officer. By Police SOP It will be shot. The kid was in his room with the wife, thus wasn’t shot in-front of the kid as this is claimed.

@eirefrance They are claiming that the dog they fatally shot was acting aggressively, I’m pretty familiar with dogs, and I heard no aggression, as if the dog was going to attack, from the details, when THREE seperate cops were shooting at the Pit Bull, they managed to shoot the Corgi in the leg/foot.
@Killerqunz I’m going to bet the police arede facto if not de jure exempt from all charges of abuse or violence. After all, they were just “doing their job”, making sure even misdemeanors are treated with extreme unnecessary violence.

im not gonna lie cops have come to my house with a search warrant once, for almost the exact same reason and they only found small amounts of cannabis.
i protested about them bringing a dog in to my house because i have cats and that i should get my cats and put them in a bath room. but the police didnt care they just kept yelling at me to submit. Sure enough my cat walks up to the dog and the dog reacts and attacks my cat. Then i really let the police know what i thought of them. kill cops
This is why we must support freedom and self defense and kill cops, and any other govt personnel, when cops are killed we should celebrate, and protest at their funerals, mocking their loved ones
